adding to the humiliation

I just got the confirmation call from the hospital. I'm scheduled for a 1:30pm surgery, and have to arrive at 11am for all the intake stuff.

The humiliating part? A pregnancy test is standard procedure. Which of course requires FMU. Which means that I get to PIAC on Friday morning, and then store said pee in something clean, dry, and SEALED, so that I can TRANSPORT IT to the hospital with me.

I chuckled (jealously) at the idea of IF'ers that carried around positive pee sticks... now I have to carry a damn jug o' pee.

That is ridiculous. Why can't they just do it as part of some routine blood work they'll probably do anyway? That way you won't have to bother yourself with it.

Good luck on Friday Beth!

I can't believe that, that's some crazy-ass procedures they have.

I found you on the stirrup queen's lost and found/connections abound post and wanted to let you know that I'm at home right now recovering from laparoscopic surgery, though mine was for a bum gall bladder . I just wanted you to know that I feel for you! I know your surgery will be more intensive and emotionally wrought than mine, but I just wanted to send you good wishes for a speedy recovery and the best possible outcome.

I too am recovering from a laparoscopic surgery! Deep breath and keep on trucking. And ask for the good drugs. ;) Good luck and I am sending prayers your way.

That seems so silly! I just wanted to stop by to wish you luck on your surgery this week. I'll be thinking of you!

I, too, came over from L and F, and I also want to wish you a swift, relatively easy recovery.

That sucks, just plain sucks. I'm sorry you're having to deal with all of this.

You're in my prayers that this surgery goes well and you get relief in one way or another.

Thought I'd pop over this morning after being away from blogs all weekend to see how you're doing. Hope all is well in your land, and that surgery went fine...and easier than you dreaded.
